Flash Quill Nymph

Reference Recipe
- Hook Standard or jig nymph hook, 14-20
- Thread Brown 8/0 (70 denier)
Materials
- Bead Copper slotted tungsten (sized to hook)
- Tail Coq de Leon fibers (small bunch)
- Abdomen Stripped/flash-cored quill (1 quill)
- Coating Thin UV resin (over abdomen)
- Flashback Pearl tinsel (1 strand)
- Thorax Dark dubbing or peacock (small pinch)
How to tie it
- Seat a slotted tungsten bead, mount the hook, and start thread.
- Tie in a small bunch of coq de leon fibers for the tail, half a shank long.
- Bind in a quill and wrap it forward in touching turns to the 65% mark for a segmented abdomen, then coat with a thin layer of UV resin.
- Tie in a strand of pearl flash for the flashback.
- Dub a small dark thorax behind the bead.
- Pull the flash over as a back and bind behind the bead, then whip finish.
