Reference Recipe

  • Hook 4XL streamer hook, 2-6
  • Thread White 6/0 (140 denier)

Materials

  • Body Pearl mylar braid (1 length)
  • Belly White bucktail (1 clump)
  • Back Olive or chartreuse bucktail (1 clump)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the hook and lay a thread base.
  2. Slide pearl mylar braid over the shank and bind it front and back for a flashy body.
  3. Tie in a white bucktail belly at the head, angled back one shank length past the bend, with a few strands of pearl flash.
  4. Stack a darker olive or chartreuse bucktail over the top for the back, keeping a baitfish profile.
  5. Add a few strands of flash along each side.
  6. Build a thread head, set stick-on eyes, whip finish, and coat with UV resin.
