  • Hook 60-degree jig nymph hook, 10-14
  • Thread Tan/gold 8/0 (70 denier)

Materials

  • Bead Gold slotted tungsten (sized to hook)
  • Tails Brown goose biots (2, split)
  • Abdomen Golden-brown dubbing (tapered)
  • Rib Gold wire (1 strand)
  • Flashback Pearl tinsel (1 strip)
  • Thorax Golden-brown dubbing (buggy pinch)
  • Collar Hot-orange dubbing (short band)

How to tie it

  1. Seat a gold slotted tungsten bead on the jig hook, mount, and start thread.
  2. Split two brown biots at the bend for the tails, half a shank long.
  3. Tie in the gold wire rib and a strip of pearl flash for the flashback, then dub a tapered golden abdomen to the 65% mark.
  4. Rib the wire forward in 5-6 turns, tie off, and pull the flash over as a back to bind at the thorax.
  5. Dub a fatter shaggy golden thorax and pick it out for legs.
  6. Add a short hot-orange hotspot collar behind the bead, then whip finish.
  7. Tight-line Euro-nymph it through fast pocket water and riffles where golden stoneflies live.
