How to tie it
Lay a full thread base from behind the eye down to the bend to give the foam something to grip.
Tie in the black shiny wing-case ribbon on top of the shank and bind it back to the bend, then return the thread forward to the mid-shank.
Cut a foam strip about one hook-gap wide with a slight taper; tie it in at the mid-shank so thread tension rolls it onto the top of the shank, leaving the long end pointing rearward.
Advance the thread a short distance forward, tie in the fluorescent yellow round braid, and take 3 touching wraps to form a bright butt; tie off and trim.
Tie in 4 peacock herls by their tips at that point, advance the thread to just behind the eye, then wrap the herl forward to build the underbody and tie off; counter-wrap the thread back through the herl to reinforce, then return the thread to behind the eye.
Fold the foam forward over the top of the body to just behind the eye without stretching it; hold it down and secure with 3-4 tight wraps, then trim the foam just ahead of the eye to leave a short head.
Tie in the synthetic wing ribbon on top so the tips reach back only to where the butt starts; secure firmly.
Whip finish behind the eye and add a drop of head cement.
