How to tie it
Start the white thread behind the eye and lay a sparse, flat base back to the bend, wasting no wraps to keep the profile thin.
Tie in two black tailing fibers at the bend, one shank long. Loop a piece of 30-denier Nano Silk around the shank, pull it forward between the two fibers to split them apart, secure it with a couple of wraps, and trim away the helper thread.
Tie in the clear micro tubing with the tag toward the eye, stretch it as tight as you can, bind it back to the tail with wrapping turns, come forward with touching turns, and snip the front tag while it is stretched.
Shade the white thread base lightly with a light gray marker, then color only the top of the body with the brown marker and immediately flip the fly upside down for a moment so the ink does not seep to the belly. The fly should be dark on top, light underneath.
Wrap the micro tubing forward in tight touching turns to the thorax area, pull it tight, tie off, and snip the stretched end.
Tie in the black holographic tinsel on top of the shank at the thorax, then build a small thread thorax.
Figure-eight a longer piece of extra-fine Krystal Flash across the thorax for the front and rear legs, then a shorter piece for the middle legs; trim all six legs even, about a body-width long.
Pull the holographic tinsel forward over the thorax as the wing case, tie it down behind the eye, and trim.
Whip finish behind the eye, then touch a sparse coat of thin UV resin over the body and back and cure it.
