How to tie it
- Start the thread and tie in flat gold tinsel at the bend, forming a short tag.
- Tie in a short married tail of yellow and red quill slips over the tag.
- Tie in the flat gold ribbing tinsel, then wind a smooth tapered body of yellow floss forward, stopping short of the eye.
- Spiral the gold rib forward in 4-5 even turns and tie off.
- Apply a green hen hackle as a beard beneath the shank (or a short wound collar).
- Set a matched pair of mottled-turkey wing slips with a yellow married stripe low over the body; build a neat head, whip finish and varnish.
