Reference Recipe
- Hook Curved scud/nymph hook, 12
- Thread Red 8/0
Materials
- Bead Red bead (tungsten, sized to hook)
- Body Red/pink worm (micro (vernille) chenille)
How to tie it
- Slide a red tungsten bead onto a curved scud hook and mount the hook.
- Start thread behind the bead and lay a base to the bend.
- Tie in a length of micro chenille at the bend so it overhangs half a shank as the rear worm tip.
- Bind the chenille along the shank to just behind the bead, letting the front overhang too.
- Lay a smooth thread underbody if you want a slimmer profile, or leave it plush.
- Whip finish behind the bead.
- Singe both chenille ends with a lighter to a tapered point so they won't fray.
