Tail Brown permanent marker (2 goose biots, split)
Body Peacock ice dub (3-4 herls)
Rib Gold middle (fine wire)
Hackle Brown hackle (1 soft hen feather)
Wings White uni stretch (2 goose biots, V over back)
How to tie it
Slide a gold tungsten bead onto a 2XL nymph hook and add 8-10 wraps of lead behind it. The extra weight is what gets this Prince down in fast pocket water.
Start thread and tie in two brown goose biots at the bend, splayed into a short V tail.
Bind in a length of gold wire for the rib.
Twist three or four peacock herls into a rope and wrap a plump body up to just behind the bead.
Counter-wrap the gold wire forward in 4-5 open turns to protect the herl and tie off.
Wind a soft brown hen hackle collar, sweep the fibres back, and pin them with a few thread wraps.
Set two white goose biots flat in a V over the back, reaching the body's midpoint, and whip finish behind the bead.
