UV resin Clear uv resin (wing case + thin coat)
Posca paint marker Black ostrich herl (wing case)
How to tie it
Slide the offset tungsten bead onto the jig hook and start the UTC 70 olive thread, unwinding it to lay flat; build a small thread dam behind the bead and a short body base to the bend.
Tie in four to six short Coq de Leon fibers for a sparse tail at the bend.
Tie in the iridescent protagon body material behind the bead, wrap a thin body to the bend and back, keeping the thread flat and the body slim; whip finish to lock.
Unwind the thread flat and wrap back down the body with touching turns, opening the wraps near the tail to leave the tinsel exposed for the 'faded' look; build a slight taper forward and whip finish.
Place a small drop of UV resin at the head to form the wing case and cure, then color it black with the Posca marker.
Coat the whole fly with a thin layer of UV resin (up onto the bead) and cure.
