Fine deer hair (X-caddis/hopper) Natural deer hair (1 small clump)
How to tie it
Start the GSP thread, lay a tight base, and add a drop of super glue.
Tie in the pink fritz at the rear (strip the core to reduce bulk), take three or four turns, then switch to the second fritz color and wrap forward, tying off short of the eye.
Cut a foam cylinder at an angle with a flat top and tie it in at the front so it sits angled back over the body, leaving room for the muddler.
Comb, stack, and align a small clump of fine deer hair; tie it in front of the foam with two loose turns, then cinch to spin and flare it around the shank.
Pack the deer hair, add a second clump if needed, and spin it into a small muddler head; whip finish.
Trim the deer hair to a small muddler head shape.
