How to tie it
Start the thread about 80% up the shank and lay a smooth, flat base back to the bend.
Tie in four synthetic tailing fibers at the bend, about a shank-and-a-half long.
Split the fibers two-per-side by figure-eighting the thread around the base, then wrap forward over the butts to the starting point and trim.
Tie in a goose biot by the tip at the bend for a smooth (non-tapered) body.
Add a thin layer of Zap-A-Gap along the shank, then wrap the biot forward in slightly spreading turns so its raised edge shows as segmentation; tie off.
Tie in a cerise McFlylon post and build a base of thread wraps around it to stand it up (the visible spotting post).
Tie in the silver poly macrame yarn across the shank as spent spinner wings, figure-eighting to set them flat.
Tie in the hackle at the post and wind it parachute-style around the base in several descending turns, then secure it under the post.
