Baitfish · Striped Bass · Bluefish · False Albacore · Jack · Tarpon · Snook · Redfish · Sea Trout · Intermediate · 1 version

Reference Recipe

  • Hook saltwater streamer hook, 1/0-4
  • Thread White 3/0

Materials

  • Tail White uni stretch (bucktail with pearl flash)
  • Body Pearl anti static bag strip (EZ-Body / Mylar tubing)
  • Back Olive or gray material (marker or dubbing)
  • Eyes Silver metal tape (stick-on or painted)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread at the bend and tie in a sparse bucktail tail about one shank length with a few strands of flash.
  2. Slide a length of pearl EZ-Body tubing over the tail tie-in point and bind the rear end down.
  3. Push the tubing forward to create a full baitfish belly and bind the front end behind the eye.
  4. Color the top of the tubing with an olive or gray marker to give a darker back.
  5. Add stick-on eyes at the head and set them with a drop of thread cement.
  6. Whip finish at the eye and coat the head and eyes with UV resin for durability.
