- Hook 60-degree jig nymph hook, 12-16
- Thread Black 8/0
Materials
- Bead Copper bead (slotted tungsten, 3.0mm)
- Tag Red buzzer wrap (wool or floss)
- Body Peacock ice dub (2-3 peacock herls)
- Rib Copper thorax stripe (fine wire)
- Collar Red-brown material (hen hackle or ice dub)
How to tie it
- Seat the slotted bead against the eye and start thread behind it.
- Tie in a short red wool tag over the rear one-fifth of the shank and trim it stubby.
- Twist two or three peacock herls into a rope and wind the body to the 70% mark.
- Counter-wrap the copper rib in 5 open turns and snip the tag.
- Take two turns of red-brown hen hackle as a soft collar behind the bead.
- Sweep the fibers back and whip finish.
