Streamer · Trout · Smallmouth Bass · Intermediate · 1 version

Reference Recipe

  • Hook 60-degree jig streamer hook, 8-12
  • Thread White 6/0

Materials

  • Bead Gold bead (slotted tungsten, 3.5-4.0mm)
  • Tail Olive ostrich herl (marabou, short clump)
  • Body Pearl anti static bag strip (flat braid or ice dub)
  • Flash Pearl flashabou (few strands Krystal Flash)
  • Collar Olive ostrich herl (ice dub or soft hackle)

How to tie it

  1. Seat the slotted bead against the eye and start thread behind it.
  2. Tie in a short marabou tail about one shank length, kept sparse so it kicks.
  3. Add a few strands of pearl flash over the tail, trimmed to tail length.
  4. Wrap a pearl braid or ice-dub body forward to the 70% mark.
  5. Dub or wind a soft olive collar behind the bead to suggest gills and pectorals.
  6. Sweep the fibers back, whip finish behind the bead, and add a drop of cement.
