  • Hook 60-degree jig nymph hook, 12-16
  • Thread Black 8/0

Materials

  • Bead Copper bead (slotted tungsten, 3.0-3.5mm)
  • Tail Natural case (6-8 pheasant tail fibers)
  • Butt Fluoro pink mono (UV ice dub or thread)
  • Body Natural case (4-5 pheasant tail fibers)
  • Rib Copper thorax stripe (fine wire)
  • Thorax Peacock ice dub (2-3 peacock herls)

How to tie it

  1. Seat the slotted bead and start thread behind it, running back to the bend.
  2. Tie in a pheasant tail tail one shank length long.
  3. Dub or wrap a small bright fluoro butt over the rear one-fifth of the shank.
  4. Wind the pheasant fibers forward over the remaining shank to the 65% mark.
  5. Counter-wrap the copper rib in 4-5 open turns and snip.
  6. Twist and wrap a short peacock herl thorax up to the bead.
  7. Whip finish behind the bead and cement.
