- Hook 60-degree jig nymph hook, 16-20
- Thread Black 10/0
Materials
- Bead Silver bead (slotted tungsten, 2.0-2.5mm)
- Body Black ostrich herl (tying thread)
- Rib Copper thorax stripe (fine wire)
- Collar Black ostrich herl (thread build-up)
How to tie it
- Slide the silver slotted bead to the eye and start black thread behind it.
- Bind a length of fine copper wire along the shank and wrap thread to the bend.
- Build a slim, smooth thread body forward to just behind the bead.
- Spiral the copper wire forward in 5-6 evenly spaced turns and helicopter it off.
- Take a few extra thread wraps behind the bead to form a small collar.
- Whip finish and coat the body with thin UV resin for a glossy, durable shell.
