  • Hook 60-degree jig nymph hook, 12-16
  • Thread Black 8/0

Materials

  • Bead Gold bead (slotted tungsten, 3.0-3.5mm)
  • Tail Brown permanent marker (2 goose biots)
  • Body Copper thorax stripe (medium Ultra Wire)
  • Wingcase Pearl flashabou (thin Mylar tinsel)
  • Thorax Peacock ice dub (2-3 peacock herls)
  • Legs Brown silly legs nymph size (1 partridge feather)

How to tie it

  1. Seat the slotted bead against the eye and start thread behind it.
  2. Split two brown biots into a short forked tail no longer than half a shank.
  3. Bind a length of copper wire and wrap it forward in touching turns to the 60% mark for the body.
  4. Tie in a strip of pearl tinsel for the wingcase, pointing to the rear.
  5. Twist and wrap a peacock herl thorax up to the bead, keeping it buggy.
  6. Sweep a partridge feather over the thorax for a few fibers of leg on each side.
  7. Pull the pearl wingcase forward over the thorax, tie down behind the bead, and whip finish.
