Materials
- Bead Gold bead (slotted tungsten, 3.0-3.5mm)
- Tail Natural case (6-8 pheasant tail fibers)
- Body Natural case (4-5 pheasant tail fibers)
- Rib Copper thorax stripe (fine wire)
- Thorax Peacock ice dub (2-3 peacock herls)
- Collar Fluoro orange mono (UV ice dub, pinch)
How to tie it
- Seat the slotted bead against the eye and start thread behind it.
- Tie in a pheasant tail tail one shank length long, keeping the tips even.
- Wind the pheasant fibers forward to the 65% mark for a slim tapered body.
- Rib forward with 4-5 open counter-wraps of copper wire and snip the tag.
- Twist and wrap a short peacock herl thorax, stopping one bead-width behind the bead.
- Dub a bright fluoro-orange hot collar right behind the bead as the trigger.
- Whip finish under the bead and add a drop of head cement.
