Reference Recipe
- Hook Barbless jig nymph hook, #14-#18
- Thread Black 8/0
Materials
- Bead Black or copper slotted tungsten bead (1 slotted tungsten)
- Tail Coq de Leon (Small bunch of fibers)
- Body Black ostrich herl (Tying thread or fine tinsel)
- Rib Silver/pearl material (Fine wire or tinsel, 4-5 turns)
- Thorax Black UV material (Ice/UV dubbing)
- Hotspot Fluorescent orange egg sac (Thread collar behind the bead (optional))
How to tie it
- Seat the slotted bead on the jig hook, mount it, and start thread behind the bead.
- Tie in a short, sparse Coq de Leon tail at the bend, about half a shank long.
- Bind in the rib, then wrap a smooth, slim black body forward to the 70% mark.
- Counter-wrap the rib forward in 4-5 open turns and tie off for segmentation.
- Dub a small black UV thorax up toward the bead.
- If you want a trigger, build a short fluorescent orange thread hotspot collar right behind the bead, then whip finish.
