Tyer Recipe

  • Hook 2XL nymph hook, 12-18
  • Thread black 8/0

Materials

  • Gold bead Gold bead (1)
  • Goose biots Brown goose biots (2 for tail)
  • Peacock herl Natural peacock herl (body)
  • Tinsel Gold/pearl tinsel (rib)
  • Goose biots White goose biots (2 for wings)
  • Hen hackle Brown hen hackle (1 for collar)

How to tie it

  1. Slide the gold bead to the eye and start thread behind it.
  2. Tie in two brown goose biots as a split tail at the bend and a length of tinsel for the rib.
  3. Wrap a peacock herl body forward to just behind the bead, then counter-rib with the tinsel and tie off.
  4. Wrap a brown hen hackle collar behind the bead and sweep the fibers back.
  5. Tie two white goose biots in a V over the top as wings, angled back over the body.
  6. Whip finish behind the bead and cement.
