Classic Recipe
- Hook Curved pupa, 10-14
- Thread Black 8/0
Materials
- Body Black thread (slim to bend)
- Cheeks Orange goose biot slips (each side)
- Wing buds Orange painted or biot (sides)
- Coat Epoxy/UV resin (full gloss)
How to tie it
- Mount the curved pupa hook and run black thread from the eye down around the bend to set the body length.
- Wrap a slim, smooth black thread body up the shank, keeping it thin and tapered.
- Tie in a short orange goose biot slip on each side at the head as breathers/cheeks.
- Add orange biot or painted wing buds at the sides of the thorax.
- Whip finish first, then coat the entire body and thorax with a full gloss of epoxy or UV resin, rotating until cured for a glassy finish.
