Classic Recipe
- Hook Standard nymph, 16-18
- Thread Yellow-brown 8/0
Materials
- Tail PT fibers (3)
- Body PMD yellow-olive dubbing (slim)
- Rib Wire (fine)
- Wingcase Turkey + epoxy dome (shiny)
- Legs Hen (sparse)
How to tie it
- Mount the nymph hook and run yellow-brown thread to the bend.
- Tie in 3 pheasant tail fibers as a short tail, then catch in fine wire for the rib.
- Dub a slim PMD yellow-olive body forward over the rear two-thirds and tie off.
- Spiral the wire forward in 5-6 even turns and secure.
- Tie in a turkey slip for the wingcase, then dub a small thorax up to behind the eye.
- Tie in sparse hen fibers each side as legs, then pull the turkey wingcase over the thorax and bind down.
- Coat the wingcase with a dome of epoxy or UV resin, cure it glossy, whip finish and varnish.
