Body EP Fibers (white belly, gray/olive/tan back) (6-10 clumps)
Flash Pearl or silver Angel Hair blended in (sparse)
Gill Red flash or marker (small dab)
Eyes 3D stick-on eyes (1 pair)
How to tie it
Start above the hook point. Tie in a clump of white EP Fibers using the high-tie method: lash the middle of the clump on top of the shank, then fold the front half back and lock it.
Alternate clumps under (belly, white) and over (back, darker) the shank, working forward in 4-5 stations, each tied at the midpoint and folded back. The fold builds bulk without weight and keeps the fly from fouling.
Blend a little Angel Hair flash into the back clumps as you go.
Finish with a slightly shorter head clump at the eye, whip finish, and cement.
Trim the fibers to a baitfish taper, deep belly, narrow tail. The scissors do half the tying on this fly.
Glue on 3D eyes with a drop of resin and mark a red gill slash.
