Materials

  • Belly Yellow/orange material (EP fibers, reverse-tied)
  • Flanks Olive/chartreuse flanks (EP fibers, layered)
  • Back Dark olive/blue material (EP fibers, top layer)
  • Flash Pearl flashabou (Few strands EP Sparkle)
  • Gill Red/orange gill (Small tuft EP fibers at head)
  • Eyes 3D silver eyes (1 pair adhesive eyes)
  • Head Clear head cement (UV resin)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the hook and lay a thread base over the front two-thirds of the shank.
  2. Working in the EP reverse-tie style, bind a clump of belly-color fibers at the midpoint pointing forward, then fold it back and lock it so it flares into a panfish-tall belly.
  3. Add successive stacked layers moving forward and building height: olive-chartreuse flanks, a few strands of pearl flash, and a dark back, folding each rearward to build a deep, round bluegill profile.
  4. Tie in a small red gill tuft at the throat just behind the eye.
  5. Whip finish and build a compact thread head.
  6. Trim the fibers into a tall, rounded panfish silhouette with scissors, leaving a broad body and short tail.
  7. Glue a 3D eye to each side and coat the head with UV resin. Strip-pause it near weed edges and docks for bass and pike that hunt panfish.
