  • Thread Olive 8/0

Materials

  • Bead Black bead (1 small tungsten)
  • Shuck Olive/brown buggerbou mini barred (Sparse Z-lon)
  • Abdomen Olive-gray material (Fine dubbing)
  • Rib Fine gold (Wire, 4 turns)
  • Thorax Dark olive material (Dubbing, plump)
  • Wing bud Dun microfibetts (CDC tuft)

How to tie it

  1. Slide the bead to the eye, mount the hook, and start thread at the bend.
  2. Tie in a wispy olive-brown shuck about half a shank long.
  3. Bind in the gold wire and dub a thin olive-gray abdomen to the 60% mark.
  4. Counter-wrap the rib forward in 4 turns and tie off.
  5. Tie in a short dun CDC wing bud over the bead.
  6. Dub a small dark-olive thorax around the wing and up to the bead, then whip finish.
