Abdomen Olive-brown Superfine dubbing or turkey biot (pinch/1)
Wings White/pale dun poly yarn or Zelon (spent) (small bunch)
Thorax Olive-brown Superfine dubbing (pinch)
How to tie it
Start thread and tie in two or three Microfibbett tails to each side at the bend, split wide with a small dubbing ball or figure-eight wraps for a stable, flush float.
Dub a slim, tapered olive-brown abdomen (Flav bodies run olive-brown) forward to the thorax.
Tie in a bunch of pale poly/Zelon across the shank and figure-eight it into flat spent wings lying perpendicular to the body. The flush, spent silhouette is what a spinner-fall trout wants.
Dub a slightly fuller thorax over the wing base to lock the wings flat.
Whip finish behind the eye and add a tiny drop of cement; the finished fly should lie flush in the film.
