Reference Recipe
- Hook Egg/scud (curved) hook, #8-#14
- Thread Orange or red 70 denier
Materials
- Bead (optional) Gold tungsten bead (1)
- Body McFly Foam / egg yarn, two shades (e.g., orange + peach) (2 clumps)
- Veil/Hotspot Contrasting egg yarn, red or chartreuse (Tiny tuft)
How to tie it
- Optionally slide a bead on, mount the egg hook, and start thread at the midpoint.
- Lay the first egg-yarn clump across the top of the shank and bind it with tight wraps so it flares.
- Stack a second clump of a contrasting shade over the first and bind at the same point for a two-tone egg.
- Add a tiny veil of hotspot yarn on one side and pinch it down.
- Gather all the yarn upright, whip finish, and clip the thread.
- Trim the bunch into a tight round egg with a slightly mottled two-tone look.
