- Hook Curved/2XL nymph hook, #4-#10
- Thread Black 6/0
Materials
- Bead (optional) Black or gold tungsten bead (1)
- Tails Black goose biots (2, split)
- Body Black rabbit/hare dubbing or chenille (Thin noodle)
- Rib Copper wire or clear V-rib (1 strand)
- Wing case Black turkey or Thin Skin (1 strip)
- Legs Black rubber legs or hen (2-3 pairs)
- Egg head Hot orange ice dub or chenille (Pinch)
How to tie it
- Optionally slide a bead on, mount the curved hook, and start thread; tie in two black biots at the bend, splayed in a V.
- Bind in the rib, then dub a slim tapered abdomen forward to the 55% mark.
- Counter-wrap the rib in 5-6 evenly spaced turns and snip.
- Tie in the wing-case strip pointing rearward, then dub a fatter thorax and set rubber legs along each side.
- Fold the wing case forward over the thorax and pin it down.
- Dub a hot orange egg head behind the eye as the trigger and whip finish.
