  • Thread Black 6/0

Materials

  • Bead (optional) Black or gold tungsten bead (1)
  • Tails Black goose biots (2, split)
  • Body Black rabbit/hare dubbing or chenille (Thin noodle)
  • Rib Copper wire or clear V-rib (1 strand)

How to tie it

  1. Optionally slide a bead on, mount the curved hook, and start thread; tie in two black biots at the bend, splayed in a V.
  2. Bind in the rib, then dub a slim tapered abdomen forward to the 55% mark.
  3. Counter-wrap the rib in 5-6 evenly spaced turns and snip.
  4. Tie in the wing-case strip pointing rearward, then dub a fatter thorax and set rubber legs along each side.
  5. Fold the wing case forward over the thorax and pin it down.
  6. Dub a hot orange egg head behind the eye as the trigger and whip finish.
