Egg Sucking Squiggly-Beadhead
Nymph · Trout · Steelhead · Intermediate · 1 version
Reference Recipe
- Hook Scud/curved or standard nymph hook, #8-#14
- Thread Red 70 denier
Materials
- Bead Hot orange or gold tungsten bead (1)
- Body Squirmy/squiggly worm material, red or wine (1 length)
- Underbody Red thread or ice dub (Thin)
- Egg hotspot Hot orange ice dub (Pinch)
How to tie it
- Slide the bead to the eye, mount the hook, and start thread; build a thin thread base along the shank.
- Center a length of squiggly worm material on top of the shank and bind it down with figure-8 wraps so both ends wag free.
- Anchor the worm with a drop of superglue over the thread wraps so it never pulls out.
- Dub a thin body up toward the bead if a fuller profile is wanted.
- Dub a hot orange egg hotspot right behind the bead.
- Whip finish behind the bead and trim the worm ends to length.
