Classic Recipe

• Hook Egg or scud hook, 8-14
• Thread None

Materials

• Body Egg yarn or dubbing (round, egg-shaped)

How to tie it

1. Mount the short-shank hook, lay egg yarn crosswise and lock with tight X-wraps.
2. Gather the yarn straight up, pull taut, and trim in one scissor stroke to spring it into a ball.
3. Cement the wraps.

Substitutions

• Body instead of Egg yarn or dubbing: McFlyfoam — Translucent, most realistic; Glo Bug Yarn — Classic egg yarn, many colors; Ice Dub (egg colors) — Sparkly egg effect
