  • Thread Purple (UTC 70) 70 denier

Materials

  • Bead Gold slotted tungsten (1 (2.8-3.3mm))
  • Weight Lead-free wire, .015 (8-10 turns)
  • Tail Purple-dyed soft hackle/CDL fibers (Small pinch)
  • Rib Holographic tinsel (Sulky), silver (1 strand)
  • Body Natural hare's ear dubbing (Thin noodle)
  • Collar Purple-dyed soft hackle (1 feather, 2 turns)
  • Hotspot UV pink ice dub (Tiny pinch)

How to tie it

  1. Slide the gold bead to the eye, mount the jig hook, and lay 8-10 turns of lead into the back of the bead; ramp a smooth taper behind it.
  2. Tie in a sparse purple soft-hackle tail about half the body length at the bend.
  3. Bind in the holographic tinsel rib, then dub a slim hare's-ear body forward to just short of the bead.
  4. Counter-wrap the tinsel rib in 5-6 evenly spaced turns for flash and segmentation, then snip.
  5. Tie in the purple soft hackle by the tip and take two turns as a swept-back collar.
  6. Add a thin band of UV pink dubbing behind the bead as a hotspot and whip finish.
