  • Hook Curved/2XL nymph hook (TMC 200R), #12-#16
  • Thread Pale yellow/cream 8/0

Materials

  • Tails Pheasant tail fibers (2-3, split)
  • Abdomen Pale yellow dubbing (Thin noodle)
  • Rib Fine copper wire (1 strand)
  • Wing case Pheasant tail fibers (Small bunch)
  • Thorax Yellow dubbing, slightly darker (Pinch)
  • Legs Brown partridge (1 feather)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the curved hook and start thread; tie in a split pair of pheasant tail fibers at the bend, one-third shank long.
  2. Bind in the copper rib and dub a slim pale-yellow abdomen forward to the 60% mark.
  3. Counter-wrap the rib 5-6 open turns to segment the abdomen, then snip.
  4. Tie in the pheasant-tail wing case pointing rearward, then dub a slightly darker yellow thorax.
  5. Sweep a few partridge fibers down each side as legs, angled back toward the hook point.
  6. Fold the wing case forward over the thorax, pin it behind the eye, build a small head, and whip finish.
