Reference Recipe
- Hook 3XL nymph / burrower, 8-10
- Thread tan 70 denier
Materials
- Tail Tan/cream arctic fox body hair (3 pheasant or marabou tips, short)
- Gills Tan carapace (ostrich herl along body)
- Abdomen Cream-tan material (dubbing)
- Rib Gold middle (fine wire)
- Wingcase Mottled brown thin skin (turkey)
- Legs Brown silly legs nymph size (partridge)
- Thorax Tan carapace (dubbing)
How to tie it
- Mount the 3XL hook and start tan thread.
- Tie in three short tan pheasant or marabou tips at the bend for the tails.
- Bind in fine gold wire, then dub a pale tan abdomen over the rear two-thirds.
- Tie a length of tan ostrich along one side, then spiral the wire forward to trap the ostrich as breathing gills and break off the wire.
- Tie in a mottled turkey wingcase, then dub a fuller tan thorax.
- Add a few partridge fibers for legs, pull the wingcase over and bind it down.
- Whip finish at the eye and cement.
