- Hook 1-2XL nymph hook, 10-16
- Thread Black 8/0
Materials
- Gold bead Gold bead (1)
- Brown goose biots (tail) Brown goose biots (2)
- Peacock herl body Natural peacock herl (3-4 strands)
- Oval tinsel rib Gold oval tinsel (1 length)
- Brown hen hackle Brown hen hackle (1)
- White goose biot wings White goose biots (2)
How to tie it
- Slide the bead to the eye, start thread behind it and wrap to above the barb.
- Tie in two brown goose biots as a split V tail, each about half a shank long.
- Tie in the gold rib, then a small bundle of peacock herl.
- Wrap the peacock herl forward to just behind the bead and tie off.
- Counter-rib the tinsel forward in even spirals and secure.
- Wrap a brown hen hackle collar of two turns and sweep the fibres back.
- Tie two white goose biots flat over the top as a split wing behind the bead.
- Whip finish behind the bead and cement.
