How to tie it
Put eight or nine wraps of.015 lead wire on the front third of a size 12 1XL nymph hook.
Start hot pink 70 denier thread just ahead of the weight, build a small thread dam behind the lead and another in front of it to lock it, then take the thread rearward.
Catch in a strand of small wire just behind the weighted wraps and bind it down to the rear of the shank where the body will start.
Wax the thread and spin a three-inch noodle of dryer lint onto it, a little fur and pet hair in the lint is fine.
Wrap the dubbing forward to the front of the weighted wraps, using the lead underbody to help build a slight taper. Do not fuss over lumps.
Rib the body with the wire in evenly spaced turns, as close together as you like, catch it off with a couple of wraps and helicopter the tag off.
Prepare a small natural partridge feather with a clean tie-in point, tie it in ahead of the body and take two wraps only. The long soft barbs give plenty of leg.
Tie the hackle off, snip the tip, pull all the fibers back and build a deliberately large hot pink head as a hot spot.
