Reference Recipe
- Hook articulated streamer (Gamakatsu B10S), sections joined by intruder wire and beads, 1/0 front, 2 rear
- Thread olive GSP 100
Materials
- Tail Olive/black material (olive marabou veiled with black Flashabou)
- Rear body Gold UV material (polar chenille)
- Collar Light olive swannundaze (rabbit zonker)
- Flank Olive mallard flank (mallard flank)
- Head Olive ostrich herl (spun deer hair, trimmed to a wedge)
- Eyes Earth (Fish-Skull living eyes)
- Connection n/a (intruder wire + 2 beads)
How to tie it
- Start on the rear hook: mount it, start thread, and tie in an olive marabou tail veiled with black Flashabou, about one shank long.
- Wrap gold UV polar chenille forward to the eye, sweeping fibers back, then whip finish the rear section.
- Join the front hook to the rear with intruder wire threaded through two beads, then start thread on the front hook.
- Palmer a light-olive rabbit collar, then tie in olive mallard flank around it for a swept, breathing collar.
- Spin and stack olive deer hair to fill the front third, packing each bunch tight.
- Whip finish at the eye, then trim the deer-hair head into a broad wedge, flat on the bottom and angled on top so it dives and rolls.
- Glue Fish-Skull eyes to the sides and coat the head bottom with UV resin for a hydrophobic diving face.
