Drunk and Disorderly

Streamer · Trout · Smallmouth Bass · Pike · Intermediate · 1 version

Classic Recipe

  • Hook Articulated streamer, 2-4
  • Thread Olive or white 6/0

Materials

  • Rear shank Articulated shank (1)
  • Rear body EP Fibers or craft fur (full)
  • Connection Wire or Fireline (20lb)
  • Front body Laser Dub brush or palmered material (full)
  • Head Spun deer hair or sculpin helmet (wide)
  • Eyes Lead dumbbell (1 pair)

How to tie it

  1. Build the rear section on an articulated shank: a full body of EP Fibers or craft fur with a flowing tail.
  2. Connect the front hook to the rear shank with a free-swinging wire or Fireline loop.
  3. Build the front body with a Laser Dub brush or palmered material.
  4. Spin a wide deer hair head and trim it with a hard, angled face. The D&D's signature. That flat diagonal face is a rudder: it digs on the strip and throws the fly sideways.
  5. Add dumbbell eyes, whip finish, cement.
