  • Thread rusty brown 14/0

Materials

  • Tail Pale dun microfibetts (2-3 microfibbets, split)
  • Abdomen Rusty brown (dubbing, slim)
  • Wings Gray flotation (CDC or antron, spent)
  • Thorax Rusty brown (dubbing)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the hook and start rusty-brown thread.
  2. Split two or three pale dun microfibbets into a wide V at the bend for the tail, one shank long.
  3. Dub a slim, segmented rusty-brown abdomen forward to the 65% mark.
  4. Tie in a sparse bunch of gray CDC across the shank and figure-8 it flat into spent wings.
  5. Dub a small thorax over the wing roots to lock them out to the sides.
  6. Whip finish at the eye and cement.
