Reference Recipe
- Hook curved scud/nymph, 18-22
- Thread black 70 denier
Materials
- Bead Black bead (tungsten, 1.5-2mm)
- Body Black ostrich herl (tying thread, smooth)
- Rib Silver metal tape (fine wire)
- Gills White uni stretch (antron, short (optional))
- Thorax Peacock ice dub (herl)
How to tie it
- Slide a small black tungsten bead to the eye, mount the hook and start black thread.
- Lay a smooth thread body from the bead down around the bend and back to the 70% mark.
- Bind in fine silver wire at the rear and rib forward in 5-6 even turns for segmentation, then helicopter it off.
- Optionally pinch a few short white antron fibers at the throat for gills.
- Wrap 2-3 turns of peacock herl behind the bead for the thorax.
- Whip finish behind the bead and add a tiny drop of cement.
