Dover Peach

Streamer · Trout · Intermediate · 1 version

Reference Recipe

  • Hook 2XL-4XL streamer hook, 4-10
  • Thread Tan 6/0 (140 denier)

Materials

  • Cone Gold cone (gold conehead sized to hook)
  • Weight Lead (lead wraps behind the cone)
  • Body Peach (peach Cactus Chenille / Estaz)
  • Tail Peach (short tuft of peach marabou or chenille fibers (optional))

How to tie it

  1. Slide a gold cone onto the hook to the eye, mount the hook, and lay lead wraps behind the cone, shoving them into its base to lock it.
  2. Start thread behind the lead and, if wanted, tie a short peach tail tuft at the bend, no longer than half a shank.
  3. Bind in the peach Cactus Chenille at the bend.
  4. Wrap the chenille forward in tight, touching turns to the cone, brushing trapped fibers back after each wrap so the body stays full and shaggy.
  5. Tie off tight against the cone base and snip the excess.
  6. Whip finish behind the cone, snip, and pick out the body fibers with a bodkin to fatten the profile.
