Bodkin / Patterns
Dover Peach
Streamer · Trout · Intermediate · 1 version
Reference Recipe
- Hook 2XL-4XL streamer hook, 4-10
- Thread Tan 6/0 (140 denier)
Materials
- Cone Gold cone (gold conehead sized to hook)
- Weight Lead (lead wraps behind the cone)
- Body Peach (peach Cactus Chenille / Estaz)
- Tail Peach (short tuft of peach marabou or chenille fibers (optional))
How to tie it
- Slide a gold cone onto the hook to the eye, mount the hook, and lay lead wraps behind the cone, shoving them into its base to lock it.
- Start thread behind the lead and, if wanted, tie a short peach tail tuft at the bend, no longer than half a shank.
- Bind in the peach Cactus Chenille at the bend.
- Wrap the chenille forward in tight, touching turns to the cone, brushing trapped fibers back after each wrap so the body stays full and shaggy.
- Tie off tight against the cone base and snip the excess.
- Whip finish behind the cone, snip, and pick out the body fibers with a bodkin to fatten the profile.
