Tag Glo-Brite floss, lime green #12 (two strands, doubled)

Body Red fox squirrel back hair (one pinch in a dubbing loop)

Overwing CDC, natural (two feathers)
Thorax CDC and dubbing (half a CDC feather plus dubbing, in a loop)
How to tie it
Mount a Hanak H130BL barbless dry fly hook and attach the thread behind the eye with a jam knot, popping the tag off.
Rather than tying in two strands at the bend, double the Glo-Brite floss over the working thread, run it down to the shank and bind it in, wrapping back to the bend.
Trim the tag to about half the width of the hook gape, so only a short egg sac shows at the back. Kevin uses this floss because it is truly fluorescent and does not change colour when it is wet.
Tie two CDC feathers in by their tips right where the tag was tied off: one soft wrap, then a second wrap pulling up to seat the feathers on top of the shank, then one more wrap and a couple of angular wraps trapping the CDC at the front so it cannot pull free.
Form a dubbing loop, middle finger into the loop, thread back to the shank, a couple of wraps, one wrap over the top of the loop, back over the shank and a locking wrap.
Load the loop with red fox squirrel back hair, drape it over your finger and spin, then pop the loop to knock the underfur out and leave the guard hairs standing.
Clip hackle pliers onto the spun loop and cut the twisting tool out. This lets you wind with the pliers rather than the tool. Advance the thread two-thirds of the way up the shank first, then wrap the body up to it.
Tie the loop off with a wrap on the left of it, move it over and a wrap on the right, switch hands and repeat, then cut the loop out.
Pull the CDC underwing forward over the body and push it back on itself to form the bubble, setting it about the length of the tag, pinch it on both sides of the shank, then take a couple of wraps with a pull-up on the second to seat it on top. Pull the butts back, two or three wraps, and cut them off.
For the overwing take two more CDC feathers, even the tips, and hold them with the concave sides facing the near side of the hook so the tips extend just beyond the underwing.
Counter-spin the bobbin to take the twist out of the thread, take one loose wrap all the way round, then a second, and pull up as you come back to seat the wing directly above the underwing. Pull the CDC back, two or three wraps in front, and clip.
Tie in half a strand of Optic White Poly as a post underneath the shank: a couple of wraps in front, switch hands, three wraps behind, then wraps around the base to gather the two strands, pull, and one locking wrap over the shank.
Go back to the overwing tie-in point and build a second dubbing loop the same way. Lay half the base of a CDC feather in, put dubbing on top of it so the two are layered, insert both into the loop and cut the stem out.
Spin the loop over your finger, shake some underfur free, and wrap it in as the thorax - CDC and dubbing together giving the legs and helping it float. Then whip finish.
