How to tie it
Wax the white nano silk well, start it about one and a half hook-eye lengths back, wrap to the bend, then back forward and build a small thread bump where the eyes will sit. Wax again.
Tie the large chartreuse dumbbell eyes on the bump: three X-wraps one way, three the other, then half a dozen tight horizontal turns. Then lock them by wrapping repeatedly under the whole assembly and back over it. That under-and-over sequence is what makes them immovable.
Cut the chartreuse rabbit strip to about twice the hook length and taper the tie-in end to a point; strip the fur off that point. Wax the thread, pinch the hide so it wraps around the shank, and lash it in hard at the rear, going under and back over it so it cannot slip.
Tie four or five strands of San Juan mix flash along each side, about the length of the tail or slightly longer, spreading them around the fly rather than only down the sides. Trim.
Tie in the cross-cut olive rabbit strip at the rear and palmer it forward in touching (not overlapping) turns, stroking the fur back with every wrap so no hide edge climbs over the previous one. Stop short of the eyes, lock it with several wraps front and back, and trim.
Brush the body out to free any trapped fibers, then wet your fingers and stroke it all back.
Prepare a clump of olive fox medallion by holding the tips tight and brushing all the under fur out; keep the fibers long for the collar.
Form a waxed dubbing loop just behind the eyes, spread the fox evenly into it, spin it tight, and wrap it as a full collar, stroking the fibers rearward with each turn.
Select two matched ginger hackles and tie one flat down each side of the fly as an accent.
Build a neat head around the eyes, whip finish and cement.
