How to tie it
Put a 1/8 in light pink slotted bead on a size 10 jig hook, push it up to the eye, and start hot orange thread behind it, covering part of the shank.
Take about 20 strands of purple Angel Hair, double them over the thread at the midpoint of the shank and wrap back toward the bend to lock in the tail.
Do not cut the tail square: rub the closed scissor blades back and forth along the fibers to break them at uneven lengths, tapering the tail to roughly one shank long.
Form a short dubbing loop about two to three inches long at the midpoint, load it loosely with black/purple Simi Seal, spin it, and wrap forward to fill the rear half of the body, stroking the fibers back with each turn.
Bring the thread up behind the bead and form a second loop the same size, load it loosely with black/red Simi Seal, spin, and wrap forward to the bead to build the front half.
Build up a band of hot orange thread behind the bead as a hot spot and whip finish several times.
Pick the whole body out hard with a dubbing pick, front to back, so the fibers stand out and give the fly its leech profile.
Optional: dunk the finished fly in boiling water for about ten seconds to lay the fibers back into a sleeker leech shape.
