How to tie it
Slide a 7/64 in purple bead onto a size 12 2XL nymph hook and start black thread behind it.
Tie in a small clump of black marabou at the rear for the tail, taking one wrap of thread behind the base and pulling back so the tail sits up. Pull the marabou to length and cut it about one shank long. Keep it slim.
Tie in the red copper wire at the tail and leave it off the back for ribbing.
Tie in the medium purple holographic tinsel and wrap it forward in even touching turns to just behind the bead to form the body. Do not build much taper.
Counter-wrap the red wire forward in the opposite direction, five or six evenly spaced ribs, and tie it off behind the bead.
Whip finish once behind the bead to hold everything, then put a drop of UV resin on the body, rotate the vise while smoothing it out evenly, and cure it with the UV light.
Restart the thread and touch-dub a very small amount of purple Diamond Brite to form a compact thorax behind the bead. Keep it sparse, not bushy.
Tie in a black saddle hackle right behind the bead, trim the stem and take only two or three wraps for legs, then tie off.
Set two black goose biots flat on top in a shallow V, extending back about the length of the body: two loose wraps, pull the butts back, wrap over the front and trim.
Whip finish a couple of turns at the head. Head cement is optional.
