How to tie it
Mount a size 2 Mustad C70SD and lay a solid base of yellow 50 denier nano silk just behind the eye. The thread has to be stout to hold the foam.
Lay a 9 mm yellow foam cylinder crosswise on top of the shank near the eye and lock it down with hard figure-eight wraps until the eyes are immovable. Trim both sides to roughly equal length (they get shaped at the end) and add a drop of head cement into the wraps.
Run the thread back to the midpoint of the shank.
Lay the purple and pink rabbit strip on top starting at the midpoint, tie it down firmly and wrap back to the bend, then cut the tail so it stands about twice the hook length off the back.
Tie in the 15 mm purple chenille at the tail and return the thread to just behind the eyes.
Wrap the chenille forward in touching turns, stroking the fibers rearward with every wrap so the body stays bushy, and take it right up tight against the foam eyes. Tie off behind the eyes.
Bring the thread in front of the eyes, take a few more figure-eights to lock them against the chenille, build a small head at the eyelet and whip finish twice. Clip the thread.
Trim the two foam cylinders down, working around each one with the scissors until they are shaped into round booby eyes.
