Tyer Recipe

  • Hook jig or streamer hook, #8-#12
  • Thread black 6/0

Materials

  • slotted bead Gold or black bead (1 (optional))
  • pine squirrel zonker strip Natural or dyed pine squirrel zonker strip (tail and body)

How to tie it

  1. Slide a bead to the eye and start thread behind it, then wrap to the bend.
  2. Tie in a pine squirrel zonker strip by the hide at the bend, leaving a tail about one shank length long.
  3. Wrap the remaining strip forward in touching turns to behind the bead and tie off.
  4. Stroke the fibers back, build a small head, and whip finish.
