Slotted tungsten bead Black or red slotted tungsten bead (1, sized to hook)
Marabou Black marabou (1 plume for tail)
Krystal Flash Red holographic tinsel (4-6 strands)
Ice dub / chenille Black dubbing (Body)
Wire or floss Red wire (Rib / hot-spot)
Schlappen hackle (optional) Black saddle hackle (1 feather)
How to tie it
Seat the bead on the jig hook, slot up, and start the thread behind it, wrapping back to the bend.
Tie in a slim black marabou tail one shank-length long.
Add a few strands of red flash along each side of the tail, matched to its length.
Tie in the red wire rib and, if using it, a black hackle by the tip at the tail base.
Twist black ice dub onto the thread and wrap a buggy body forward to just behind the bead, leaving room for a red hot-spot.
Counter-rib the red wire forward for segmentation and a flash of red, and palmer the optional hackle through the front third; tie off and sweep the fibers back.
Build a short red thread hot-spot collar behind the bead, whip finish and cement.
