Tyer Recipe
- Hook curved pupa/scud hook, #12-16
- Thread Maroon/Black 8/0
Materials
- Bead Maroon bead (1)
- Body Maroon or black material
- Wire rib Silver or copper wire
- Breather gills White uni stretch (small tuft)
How to tie it
- Slide the maroon bead to the eye; start thread and wrap to a point above the barb.
- Tie in a length of fine wire for the rib at the rear.
- Wrap thread forward in smooth overlapping turns to build a thin body ending one bead-width behind the bead.
- Counter-wrap the rib forward in 5-6 open even turns; tie off and trim.
- Tie in a small white antron tuft at the front for breather gills and trim short.
- Whip finish behind the bead.
