Tyer Recipe

  • Hook curved emerger/scud hook, #12-16
  • Thread Brown 8/0

Materials

  • Body dubbing Burgundy/olive-brown body dubbing
  • Wire rib (optional) Copper wire
  • Wing/shuck CDC natural or antron (1 tuft)
  • Hackle/thorax Brown hackle

How to tie it

  1. Start thread and dub a slim tapered body from above the barb to two-thirds up the shank.
  2. If used, counter-rib with fine copper wire and tie off.
  3. Tie in a tuft of CDC or antron over the thorax as an emerging wing/shuck.
  4. Dub or wind a short thorax and a sparse soft-hackle collar.
  5. Whip finish at the head.
