Lead-free wire underbody Silver lead free wire (.025, two-thirds of the shank plus 7-8 extra wraps at the head)
Marabou tail Black with cerise (One feather, one shank length)
Estaz body Black pearl cactus chenille (Small, one strand)
Saddle hackle Natural brown saddle hackle (One feather, tied in by the tip)
Wire rib Copper wire (Medium, 6-7 turns)

How to tie it
Before the thread goes on, wrap.025 lead-free wire over about two-thirds of the shank, leaving room behind the eye, then go back over the front of that wrap 7-8 more times to build a heavier shoulder, and break off the wire.
Start the black thread behind the eye, wrap back over the wire to the bend, and build a thread dam behind the wire so it can't slide. Come forward and build a matching dam just behind the eye, then return the thread to the bend.
Strip a marabou feather, discard the dead tip, gather the fibres and tie in a tail one shank length long. Work a little of the cerise in so there is a small hot spot at the tail.
Tie in the medium copper wire at the bend for the rib and leave it hanging off the back.
Tie in the brown saddle hackle by the tip at the bend, so the hackle grows from short at the rear to long at the front, and leave it off the back.
Tie in the Estaz at the bend, bring the thread all the way forward to the eye, then wrap the Estaz forward, stroking the fibres back as you go, and tie it off at the eye.
Palmer the hackle forward in 6-7 turns, stroking it back as you go, then take 4-5 crowded turns at the eye to leave a bushy front collar, and tie off.
Counter-wrap the copper wire forward through the hackle in 6-7 turns to lock the palmer in, finishing just short of the eye, and tie it off.
Bring all the thread to the front, stroke the collar back over the body, build a big black head, whip finish and add a dab of head cement to finish.
